With the Grimm Troupe quest unlocked and ready to go, youâll find yourself hunting down flames and battling sinister bosses. To help, we put together a guide on how to complete the Grimm Troupe quest in Hollow Knight!
How to Complete the Grimm Troupe Quest in Hollow Knight
To complete the Grimm Troupe quest in Hollow Knight, youâll need to exit the Troupe Masterâs tend and equip Grimmchild. With Grimmchild equipped, youâll now be able to spot the flames you need to collect on your map. Each flame represents a Grimm Troupe member. To collect these Grimm Troupe members, youâll need to beat them to death with your Nail.
Once all three flames (Grimm Troupe members) have been collected, return to the Troupe Masterâs tent in Dirthmouth. As you arrive in Dirtmouth, head into the Troupe Masterâs tend and turn in the three flames (Grimm Troupe members) that you collected. With this done, the Troupe Master will inform you that you need to go back out and collect more flames before the final act.
Just as you did before, head out of the Troupe Masterâs tent and ensure you have Grimmchild equipped. Open your map, and youâll see three new flame locations. Head to those locations, collect each flame (Grimm Troupe member), then return to the Troupe Masterâs tend in Dirtmouth. When youâve collected 6 flames (Grimm Troupe members), youâll trigger a boss fight with Troupe Master Grimm.
This battle can be somewhat difficult. His attacks deal 1 damage, and at the end of each phase, Troupe Master Grimm will transform into a swarm of bats. At this point, youâll have some time to heal before he transforms again. Once youâve defeated Troupe Master Grimm, heâll send you out to collect the remaining flames (Grimm Troupe members).
Again, exit the Troupe Masterâs tent, and have Grimmchild equipped. Open your map to spot the three new flame locations. Collect the flames, then return to the Troupe Masterâs tent in Dirtmouth. At this point, youâll need to head deeper into the tent. Upon doing so, youâll find the Troupe Master hanging upside down. Use your Dream Nail on him to trigger the second boss fight.

But im looking for a single player mod where i can engage in sea combat, a very developed mod, adds new items to the game, improves politics, changes the siege mechanics,.
Your second boss fight will be with Nightmare King Grimm. This fight is extremely difficult, so be prepared to die a few times while you get the hang of dodging Nightmare King Grimmâs attacks. His attacks deal 2 damage, and similar to his previous form, he transforms during the fight giving you the chance to heal. When youâve defeated Nightmare King Grimm, the Grimm Troupe will leave Dirtmouth.
The only character left behind is Divine. Head inside Divineâs tent and interact with her. In doing so, youâll have completed the Grimm Troupe quest.
Note that there is one more section of content included in the Grimm Troupe update that you can complete called âThe Path of Pain.â The Path of Pain is a platforming challenge that can be found by heading to White Palace.

As someone who is in the 0.5% of the player base (100% steelsoul), find the whole area not fun, and just out of place.
Hollow knight belongs in the metroidvania genre, and both DLC has added something for late game completionists, whether the 10 fights with Zote, 5 fights with white defender, NKG or PoP. These are all extras supposedly for completionists. They are all very difficult compared to the rest of the game, but here is a problem.
Path Of Pain White Palace
Why in a metroidvania, the hardest challenger in the game is a pure platforming section?
The section of PoP is just trial, error and annoyance. It doesn't have important purposes, it doesn't give you the joy that you have when you finally beat a boss like NKG, it just get's boring, repetitive and making you wanting to smash your screen, like most platforms.
It's oppressive when you fail, unlike the rest of the games where at least you know you are getting somewhere. This whole platforming section is just reset, reset and reset.
I know the whole area is optional, but that doesn't excuse how out of place it is.
This is just rant about PoP, 3 hours in and I can't pass the first section, even though I can do a perfect radiance, NKG, having turn Zote statue golden and done everything this game can offer at this point.
